Personality Plus (or, why I haven’t yet posted that post)

Ξ May 18th, 2009 | → 4 Comments | ∇ Books, Everyday Stuff |

I’ve been reading the book Personality Plus by Florence Littauer recently (after a recommendation at a homeschool retreat to use it to help define character weaknesses in yourself and your children).  I hadn’t ever taken this particular personality test.  I’ve known for years that I’m an I/E NFP, but that’s a whole different test.

It turns out that I am a dominant Popular Sanguine.  Which means I’m a talker, a storyteller, emotional and demonstrative, make friends easily and don’t hold grudges.

I am also a strong Powerful Choleric, which means I’m a natural leader and always right.

*ahem*

On the downside, I interrupt people and can talk too much, can be self-centered, I’m always right, and I’m disorganized and have no follow-through.

So, that’s why when I said I’d be posting about my weight loss in a day or two, 18 days later I still haven’t posted.

See?  No follow-through.

But it’s ok, because since I’m always right, I know that post will be written at some point.

I got Extreme

Ξ May 7th, 2009 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Fitness Stuff |

So I’m still finishing off that post that I mentioned yesterday about my (still in progress) weight loss efforts, but I thought I’d show you what I am finishing up…

I got extreme.

Sort of.

Well, I bought the Chalean Extreme dvds and have been doing them fairly faithfully since January.  Except that during Isaac’s deployment I seemed to get sick every other week or so, and had to keep taking whole weeks off of exercising, so the 90 days turned into something like 120 or so.

Oh, and I pretty much stuffed my face with anything I could find every night while he was gone.

But except for those two minor details?

I totally rocked the work out.

And I lost 10% of my body fat and four inches from my waist.

When Isaac came home from deployment, one of the first things he did was start poking my muscles at an, um, inappropriate time for that sort of poking, because he was so amazed at how much muscle tone I’d gained.

I bet I even have rock hard abs.

Somewhere under the layer of flubber that I still have (see above re: stuffing my face).

It was a totally fun work out, and by the end of it I was amazed at how strong I was.  Seriously.  I’d flex for you, but, well, world-wide, public pictures, and all that.

But if we run into each other in Target, I’ll totally show you my biceps.

You know what the REAL Insanity is?

Ξ May 6th, 2009 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Fitness Stuff |

That I am actually anticipating the release of this new workout series, “probably the hardest workout ever put on dvd.”

I’m half way done with a post that updates my efforts to lose the weight I gained after I broke my ankle when I was pregnant with Audrey. Hopefully Friday I’ll be done with it. Maybe.
