Something Ya’ll Don’t Know About Me…

Ξ June 3rd, 2008 | → 9 Comments | ∇ Books, TV is my friend |

Is that I love books and movies about vampires.

Buffy?

One of the top two female characters on tv along with Sydney Bristow from Alias.

Who would win in a fight do you think?

More importantly, who would be better dressed for the fight?

Isaac and I even took a vampire tour of New Orleans when we were there one night, and it was really interesting to hear about mysterious happenings over the years, as well as crimes committed by people who really believed they were vampires.

The problem is that it’s hard for me to find books that I actually will read because a lot of vampire books have a lot of, how to say this to avoid really nasty google searches…

um…

well…

Let’s just say bad icky twisted s*xual situations.

That’s why I was so excited to discover Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga.

Ok, technically it’s for young adults, but I think that’s what keeps it mostly clean, and if you can get past the fact that the main characters are 17, then it’s really enjoyable. The fourth book in the series comes out in August, and in December Twilight is being made into a movie!

I used to watch Buffy reruns. I had seen the first three seasons and was right in the middle of the fourth when I had to quit, cold turkey. I knew God had been telling me to stop watching that show because it was having a negative effect on my thought-life. Finally, I listened, and never looked back. To this day, I have not watched one second of Buffy, strictly out of obedience to Him. But I think that if you can find a clean version of the kind of stories you love, there’s absolutely nothing wrong in that. I’m glad you were able to find this series and hope it remains a blessing to you!

I’m going to have to check out that book i too love vampires!

as to your question, i think it would depend on what buffy and what sidney bristow, meaning which season. but i think buffy may have an advantage (at the end) with the whole supernatural powers. but then again sidney being “programed” would add a different side… hmmm i’m off to ponder now.

Buffy would definitely win the fight (heck, she came back from the dead!!)

But Sydney would be the better dressed :)

Funny…my 17-year old babysitter was telling me about this series just a few weeks ago! Can’t say I’m into vampires myself though…too scary for me! LOL

I ADORED Buffy!!! I watched every Tuesday night for seven years. The first season without it, I couldn’t quite figure out what to do on Tuesdays. And, I have to admit, I have most of the seasons on DVD. :)

And really, the question isn’t Buffy versus Sydney but Angel versus Spike. Who’s your pick?
