He Built His House Real Good

The wise man built his house upon the rock.
He built his house upon that rock.
And on that rock he stood.
He built his house real good.

rock1

And when the rains came down
the man was safe and sound.
Oh no, he did not drown
when the winds rolled up and
blew around his town.
They did not blow him down.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

rock2

Now the foolish man built his house upon the sand.
He built his house upon the sand.
It was not a very good plan.
He was a wishy washy man.
A wishy washy man.

rock3

And when the rains came down
the floods were all around.
He was not safe and sound.

rock4

When the winds rolled up and
blew around his house,
it blew right to the ground.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

rock6

‘Cause Jesus, You are true,
You are the rock
and I’ll build my life on You, yeah!

I will not be moved.
You are the way,
I will live for You, yeah!

Jesus, You are true,
You are the rock
and I’ll build my life on You, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeh!

Lyrics from “Wise Man Rock” by Phil Joel, Deliberate Kids (our absolute favorite kid’s cd).

PS- What is it about veins in a man’s arms that I find so attractive???

I loved this! I remember singing this song (or somthing similar, I forget exactly) every day in Elementary School. **Sigh**

And a terrific visual aid, as well!!

Great photos and song. I haven’t heard that version. Maybe I should check it out!1

Oh, and I love how relevant that last line was!! (You know, arms on guys have always always been one of my favorite parts!)

It’s because they remind us how strong those arms are and how wonderful they feel wrapped around us at night – keeping the monsters at bay.

    Lovely pictures.

I loved the song! I especially enjoyed how you included all the “yeah-yeahs”.
I agree about men’s arms. I love Hubby’s forearms even if they are a little furry on one side.

Great post – so cute – My kids and I always sing
don’t build your house on the sandy land
don’t build it to near the shore….well it might look kind of nice, but you’ll have to build it twice, yes you’ll have to build your house once more
then shouting – you’ve got to build your house on the ROCK……

fun song too … same lesson

What to bring this song to life! Love it!
I am sooooo glad that I popped over here for a little looksie.
    In Him,
    Christina
P.S. I’m with you on the ‘veins thang’. I think that I socialize it with masculine strength & protection. Who knows… ;-)

Very fun pics to go with a great truthful song! I love her expressions (and the veins–they do embody all that is masculine….) :-)

I’m with you about men’s veiny arms.
I remember noticing them in my husband when we were dating- sealed the deal!

    Super cute!

I am the SAME with veins in a man’s arm. My hubby has some great ones that I have always drooled over. Funny that someone else out there thinks like me :)
